Is Your Outbound Caller ID Name - Correct?

CNAM - or Outbound Caller ID Name displays your Company's name on the other persons desk telephone- when you make a telephone call.

The Problem: Why is this important to display your correct company name? Because many people don't answer the phone if they don't recognize the Callers name or telephone number. So, you want to make sure that your name properly displayed.

Often times, we see that the Caller  ID Name for a business is either incorrect or not displayed at all.

How it works: when your call is being delivered to your recipient, the recipients telephone company reaches into their Database of names and pulls out the name which they show as being associated with your phone number.  And, that name may still be person who used to have your telephone number before you.

If the recipients phone company does not have your correct name, it will display whatever name it finds - right or wrong.

Most phone company's have their own Database of names from which to draw. That's hundreds of Caller ID Name Databases which may or may not have your correct name.

Allworx Reach & iOS11 -Compatibility Issue

Allworx Tech Bulletin:  
REACH Users:  Do not upgrade to iOS 11 on your Apple Device
 
Apple released new upgradeable software on September 19, 2017, iOS 11.
 
Despite testing successfully with iOS 11 Beta, we have discovered that the final release of iOS 11 by Apple on September 19 is disrupting the ability of Allworx Reach for iOS to receive calls while the application is in the background. 
 
We recommend that Apple device users avoid installation of iOS 11 while we investigate this problem.
 
We are working  with Apple to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and will notify you when there is resolution.
Android users can continue to use the Allworx REACH application as they always have.

Allworx Phone System - E911 Advanced Features

Enhanced 911 gives you the ability to identify the exact physical location, within your organization, of the emergency.

With the proper configuration of your Allworx system, if 911 is dialed from a telephone, the 911-dispatcher will automatically know (and able to advise the First Responders) that the emergency is located:
  • on the second floor
  • in the welding area 
  • Joe's office.
  • At the home of your remote employee Betty - and it will provide her home address - not your office address

ALLWORX ADVANCED-LEVEL NOTIFICATION FEATURES
Once configured, here are some very powerful Advanced-Level Notification features which are built into your Allworx system:

  • After the 911 call is completed, Allworx can send audible and visual alerts to other handsets in the company:
    • Designated handsets can receive an audible alert
    • A programmable button can configured to display an emergency alert
    • The LCD Screen will display:
      • The owner of the handset who placed the call
      • Station number of the handset from which the 911 call originated
      • Date and time of the 911 call

  • An Email or SMS Text message can be sent alerting of the 911 call with the same information above
