Handset Network Profiles

Setting up handset network profiles on an Allworx system is an easy task that, when setup, will keep up to three sets of network settings on the Allworx handset. This feature will allow the user to switch the network settings in for the handset to connect to an alternate server.

Create Handset Network Profile Template
  1. On your Allworx, navigate to "Phone System" --> "Handsets"
  2. Scroll Down to "Handset Network Profile Templates"
  3. Click "Copy" next to "Network Template (Default)"
  4. Click "View" next to "Copy of Network Template (Default)"
  5. Click "Modify" to Rename the template to something meaningful
  6. Click "add profile" (you can add upto 3 profiles to each template)
  7. Name the Profile & configure the network settings
  8. Click add
  9. Click Close (upper left [-])
Assigning Network Template to handset
  1. On your Allworx, navigate to Home --> Phone System --> Handsets
  2. Scroll down to "Handset Preference Groups"
  3. Click "View" next to the Handset Preference group assigned to the phones
  4. Scroll down to "Handset Network Template" & select the one you want, Click update
  5. Reboot all handsets apart of that handset preference group

Switching Handset Network Profile
  1. On your Allworx phone, press config
  2. Select network profiles
  3. Highlight "Host xx", press USE
  4. Press exit
  5. Save to flash? YES
  6. Press Config button
  7. Scroll to reboot phone, press the checkmark, Press YES
  8. When would you like to add a user? "Now". Alternatively you could select "Later" if, you just to make outbound calls.
  9. Select your user name from the list. 
When you need to switch back
  1. On your Allworx phone, press config
  2. Select network profiles, checkmark
  3. Highlight "Archived", press USE
  4. Press exit
  5. Save to flash? YES
  6. Press Config button
  7. Scroll to reboot phone, press the checkmark, Press YES
