To experience all the IAllworx, or Mobile link for Android features, a feature key for Mobile Link must be installed on the Allworx server. Without this key, users can only view and change their presence.
Configuring IAllworx, or Mobile link for Android with the server
The Allworx server must be accessible from the IPhone or Android’s network connection.
If the Allworx server is behind a third party firewall, you will need to port map / forward through the fire wall to the Allworx server. If the Allworx server is in NAT/Firewall mode and if the connection from the IAllworx, or Mobile link for Android App is through the WAN port, the following network settings on the Apps Preference screen must match those for the Allworx server.
· Allworx Server Public IP Address or Domain Name
· Mobile Link (AMDS) Port Number (default: 8081)
· IMAP Port Number (default:143)
· SMTP (Voicemail) Port Number (default: 25)
The Apps port setting on the Preference screen are the same as the ports on the Allworx server by default. The only time they should need to be changed is if the port settings on the Allworx server have be changed due to a conflict.
If the Allworx server in in NAT/Firewall mode and if the IMAP and SMTP are set to non-standard ports, these ports will be blocked by the Allworx server firewall. To open these ports, the System Administrator must perform the following actions:
1. Login to the Allworx Administration page.
2. Navigate to Network / Configuration and select the “Modify” link.
3. In the Fire wall section, enter the correct port number in both the WAN port #and LAN port # fields.
4. Leave the Protocol as TCP
5. Enter the server’s WAN IP Address in the IP Address field
6. Save the changes and reboot the Allworx server.
To open these ports on an Allworx Server in LAN host mode, the Systems Administrator must configure any external firewall that are in place between the server’s LAN port and the Internet to forward /map all connections on all the ports listed above to the Allworx server. Alternative port numbers may be used as long as the same port numbers are used on both the App and the Allworx server.
