Music on Hold
Music on Hold is provided to callers in queues, calls held on phones, and calls that have been parked. Multiple sources can be configured and different music can be played to different callers.
Music can come from two sources. Either from a Line In source on the back of the Allworx server, or from a file that has been uploaded to the server.
Electronic music files
An electronic hold music file is provided with the system. If a different style of music or a site-specific music track is desired it can be uploaded to the Allworx server. All audio file upload to the Allworx server MUST be formated in Telephony, raw, mu-law (ulaw), mono, 8-bits per sample, 8KHz sample rate.
File Naming Convention

moh_n_m.snd
"n" is a number between 1 and 30, This number must be unique among the music on hold files that have been load on to the system.
"m" can be a user defined string that uniquely identifies the file E.G. "moh_4_sales_promo1.snd"
Note: The music on hold file name can not contain any spaces, use an "_" instead.
Importing audio files.
Navigate to "Home" --> "Phone System" --> "Music on Hold"

To put new recordings into the system, first Transfer them from your PC, then Load them into the system.
Use FTP to transfer files to/from the Allworx. If your browser supports launching an FTP program, use this link "FTP://allworx IP address/prompts", otherwise you must manually start an FTP program to connect to the allworx IP address (any username/password, then change directory to 'prompts' and use binary transfer mode). The FTP program must be running on a PC connected to the Allworx LAN.
1. Open a file explorer window and navigate to "ftp://Allworx IP address"
2. Change directory to 'prompts' and drag 'n' drop the file into the prompts directory
3. On the Manage Page Click the "Load" button
4. Navigate back to "Home" --> "Phone system" --> "Music on Hold"
5. You should see the new file under the "Music on Hold Sources"
6. Click on "Usage" link
7. Check off when music file should play
8. Click on "Update" button
The three options you have are call queues, Handset preference groups, and call appearances. Handset preference groups will apply that sound file to all handsets using that handset preference group. The call appearance will apply that sound file to just that handset. Call queues apply the sound file to the call queue.
You may need to reboot the handsets for the settings to take affect.
