Important Allworx System Upgrade 8.3.6.11

Allworx System Software 8.3.6.11  Allworx previously withdrew System Software Release 8.3.6.7 due to a problem that could cause unpredictable anomalies in system behavior. This problem exists only in Release 8.3.6.7. We highly recommend that any sites running Release 8.3.6.7 upgrade to this release (8.3.6.11) as soon as is practical.

Please note:  if you are a TCE Company MSP - Managed Services Provider Client, we are already in the process of applying these enhancements to your Allworx System


Includes:
  • Fix for an underlying defect that can cause IMAP failures and possibly other unpredictable anomalies (Defect 37868); and
  • Fixes for page faults associated with SIP logging and certain DNS lookups.
This release also includes changes that were previously released in 8.3.6.7:
  • Fix for a page fault when transferring a call to a phone number starting with +1;
  • Fix for the cause of other page faults;
  • Fix for VoIP calls that cannot be answered by certain methods (e.g. call pickup) when the call includes video codecs (e.g. video phone);
  • Fix for a certain case of server database corruption;
  • Fix for phones spontaneously rebooting when a call transfer results in a codec mismatch;
  • Fix for calls from Allworx phones to analog phones failing when the Allworx phone is configured for G.711A only;
  • Fix for a server lockup when the server page faults due to memory access errors; and
  • Minor bug fixes.

Important Tech Tip

Allworx has recently isolated conditions and processes that may affect the long-term performance of Allworx 6x and 6x12 CompactFlash® (CF) cards and power supplies. In conjunction with this review we are introducing software enhancements designed to optimize the performance reliability of Allworx servers that may have been affected. These enhancements have been implemented in all of the System Software releases listed below.

We highly recommend that you upgrade to one of these system software versions expeditiously.

NOTE: if you are a TCE Company Allworx MSP Client, we are already in the process of performing these enhancements to your Allworx system.

1. Allworx System Software 8.1.22.15

This is a special release of version 8.1 with only critical fixes. It does not include some changes that are in the 8.2 and 8.3 releases. It includes:
  • Performance reliability enhancements for Allworx 6x and 6x12 CompactFlash (CF) cards and power supplies
  • Fix for server becoming unresponsive when it receives white space on the ViewClient port. This fix is already available in prior 8.2 and 8.3 releases; and
  • Echo cancellation improvements on Connect servers. These improvements will be available in upcoming 8.2 and 8.3 releases.

2. Allworx System Software 8.2.12.4
Includes:
  • Performance reliability enhancement for Allworx 6x and 6x12 CompactFlash (CF) cards and power supplies;
  • Fix for BLF updates for mapped handsets not being sent across multi-site networks; and
  • Minor bug fixes.

3. Allworx System Software 8.3.5.4Includes:
  • Performance reliability enhancement for Allworx 6x and 6x12 CompactFlash (CF) cards and power supplies;
  • Fix for SIP gateway failures after upgrading to 8.3;
  • Fix for BLF updates for mapped handsets not being sent across multi-site networks; and
  • Minor bug fixes.

Note: Any servers running either release 8.3.2.4 or release 8.3.3.6 will be unable to install any software updates using Option 1, Download update from web. To upgrade an affected site, download the appropriate 8.3.5.4 zip file from the Portal Software page to the service PC or contact an authorized Allworx Partner to obtain the file. After unzipping the downloaded file, perform the installation from the server's Update page using Option 2, Upload update from PC. Subsequent to updating from either of the affected releases to Release 8.3.3.7 or higher, updates will again be possible using the "Download update from web" option.

4. Allworx Interact 3.10.14Includes minor bug fixes.
